ESTRI students are surrounded by an international environment on a daily basis. 40% of the teaching staff and external lecturers are foreign, and the students are in constant contact with people from diverse backgrounds, which allows them to hone their cross-cultural communication skills every day. This is reinforced by the presence of numerous international students at the Catholic University of Lyon (around 1,300 of the University's 7,000 students).
However, fluency cannot be achieved without complete immersion in the foreign country. Placements are an essential part of ESTRI's courses and their successful completion is a pre-requisite for graduating to the next year and obtaining our qualifications. The ESTRI course programme therefore includes 20 months of placements and internships:

* The work placement at the end of third year completes the student's education and allows him/her to be awarded a Certificate in International Relations and Translation.
This placement takes place in semester 8 if the student progresses to postgraduate-level study at ESTRI.
